A hockey player became the target of an unruly fan during a game Thursday night.
It happened during the pre-season game between the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers in Ontario.
Flyers Forward Wayne Simmonds was skating down the ice when someone threw a banana peel at him.
Simmonds is one of the few black players in the NHL and some worry the incident may have been racially motivated.
The NHL said in a statement, "We have millions of great fans who show tremendous respect for our players and for the game. The obviously stupid and ignorant action by one individual is in no way representative of our fans or the people of London, Ontario."
Officials are still looking for the person responsible.
