AAA Michigan reports gas prices dropped 21 cents per gallon over the past week. While that’s less pain at the pump, it’s still 75 cents per gallon more than we were paying last year at this time.
So, if you’re wondering how to pinch those pennies while still getting to all of your daily destinations, the NBC25 Gas Buddy website has some tips.
Here are the top ten ways Gas Buddy recommends cutting the fuel cost:
- Avoid high speeds
- Don’t accelerate or break hard
- Keep tires properly inflated
- Use the Air Conditioning sparingly
- Keep windows closed
- Service your vehicle regularly
- Use Cruise Control
- Avoid heavy loads
- Avoid long idles
- If you can afford it, purchase a fuel efficient vehicle.
