On Wednesday, a Michigan Senate committee will decide if things will move forward in the proposed building of a second bridge to Canada.

Governor Rick Snyder and many businesses support building a new Detroit-Windsor bridge to allow more passenger and commercial traffic.

Officials with the privately owned Ambassador Bridge oppose the new bridge and want to expand their own operation.

Michigan would rely on $550-million from Canada for related improvements.
