Michigan State Police are working with law enforcement agencies across the state to track down sex offenders who have violated the law.
The sweep started Monday and goes through October 28th.
MSP report they have compiled an extensive list of noncompliant offenders, and will be working with agencies to track them down. They’ll be searching for offenders who have failed to accurately report their address, change of name, employment, school enrollment, internet identifiers, and/or vehicles.
Over the last year, federal, state, and local agencies have been cracking down on sex offender compliance. State Police say in total, they have arrested 252 non-compliant offenders.
If you believe you know the where-abouts of a non-compliant offender, please contact your nearest Michigan State Police Post. You can find a list of the current absconders on the Michigan Government website.
