LANSING (AP) -- Michigan residents who two vehicles will not be disqualified from applying for food stamps starting next year.

The Associated Press reports starting January 1st, food stamp recipients will still be allowed to keep more than one vehicle in order to get to work, school, or job interviews.

The Department of Human Services says those applying for the weflare assistance can exempt one vehicle, but the second one can't be worth more than $15,000.
