FLINT -- Charges are expected to be announced this week in a case where a 13-year-old girl was struck and killed during a police chase.

Misty Kurmas was walking to church in late September when 38-year-old Mark Blount allegedly went speeding through the area while police chased him.  Blount was reportedly wanted for federal drug charges.  As the suspect entered the area, reports say he struck Kurmas while she was crossing the street on her way to church.

Kurmas died from the injuries. 

Blount was taken into custody shortly after the crash.

Thursday morning, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton is expected to announce details regarding criminal charges from this incident.
