During the cold weather, Catholic Charities is opening their doors to those looking to seek refuge from the frigid temperatures.

The charity organization reports they’ve put the “finishing touches” on the Holy Angels Warming Center located in the Center for Hope (located on Fifth Avenue at Saginaw Street) in Genesee County.  Guests will receive a hot cup of coffee, a snack, TV, and books to read while they are waiting. This center will be open from December 1st through March 31st.

As Catholic Charities seeks to reach out to those in need, they say they have some needs of their own. They’re asking for anyone who is willing to donate their time or money to help this cause to contact them at 810-785-6911 or by emailing givehope@ccsgc.org.

“We are trying to fulfill the most basic of people’s needs, including shelter, food, clothing and mental health services,” adds Vicky L. Schultz, President and CEO of Catholic Charities.  “The reality is that costs are high and the building needs work. To sustain this program, we really need the community behind us.”
