Monday, December 12, 2011 is expected to be the busiest shipping day of the year as shoppers hope to get those gifts in time for Christmas.

NBC reports FedEx expects to handle more than 17 Million packages in the one day alone.  That’s up 9 % from last year’s busiest mailing day, and more than double what they process on a normal day. 

With many online retailers offering no shipping costs, and with the same discounts people could get in stores while avoiding the long lines, popularity of online shopping has skyrocketed.
