DETROIT -- Detroit Pistons’ Ben Wallace has been sentenced to a year of probation for drunk driving and firearms charges.
WDIV-TV reports the 37-year-old must also perform community service as part of his sentence.
Wallace pleaded guilty last month to the charges, and faced a maximum of 93 days in jail for the misdemeanors.
The basketball star was pulled over in Bloomfield Township in September. Police gave him a breathalyzer test and discovered he was over the legal limit. When they searched his vehicle, they found a handgun.
