NBC News reports The National Transportation Safety Board has called for a ban on cell phone use by drivers.
This would eliminate phone calls, text messaging, and tweeting except in emergencies.
The NTSB said even momentary distractions have proven deadly, and it is pushing all 50 States to enact laws prohibiting the use of hand held devices while driving. It said it has found driver distraction to be the culprit in a number of high profile accidents.
