VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. -- Six people have been taken to hospitals after a Navy plane crashed into a Virginia Beach apartment complex, according to officials.

Fire officials say the fiery crash destroyed three buildings, and left two others with significant damage.

But rescue officials say witnesses saw fuel being dumped from the jet before it went down, which probably lessened the fire damage.

The Navy says both pilots ejected safely.
