CLIO -- Witnesses say a driver appeared to be having convulsions when he crashed into a building in downtown Clio.

The crash happened just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Clio and Vienna Roads.

Jake Loenard, who works at Clio Chrysler Body Shop, says he witnessed the dramatic crash.

"I heard a loud screech noise and looked out the window and saw the car hit a light pole and then it crashed into the building.

The car slammed into the Stout & Stout Attorneys at Law office building.

"Eveybody jumped up and yelled somebody hit the building," said Otis Stout.

Jake Leonard said in the minutes before first responders arrived on scene, he tried to help the driver.

"We went over there to see what was wrong with the guy and was having a seizure and convulsions. I have epilepsy and I have seizures myself so I actually knew what to do. I pulled him out of the car and laid him on his side and made sure he didn't hurt his head," said Leonard

The driver was taken away in an ambulance. Police say he only suffered minor injuries.

Otis Stout said he has had his office in the building for more than 30 years and no one has ever hit the building before.

Jake says it's a miracle no one was seriously injured.

"A lot of people walk up and down here every day and luckily he didn't kill anybody."
