SURREY TOWNSHIP -- The Clare County Sheriff's department is investigating a possible hit-and-run motorcycle crash that killed a Lansing man Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say Ralph Smith, 63, killed in the crash on Old State Avenue near Ziggy Road in Surrey Township. 

Deputies got information that a silver van had left the accident scene shortly before 4 p.m.  It's unknown if the van was involved in the crash and whether alcohol was a factor or if Smith was wearing a helmet.
