A padding problem prompts a recall of more than 10,000 Ford Escape SUVs.

Ford is recalling the 2013 models manufactured from March 8th through June 7th of this year.

The reason for therecall is a problem with the placement of the carpet padding, which may reduce the space around the pedals.

This issue could cause a driver to hit the side of the brake when switching fromt he accelerator.

The recall covers more than 8,000 Escapes nationwide and Ford will contact consumers.
