SAGINAW -- Friday, the family of the 6-year-old victim who died Wednesday after a shooting spoke out urging anyone with information to come forward.

6-year-old Layla Jones was shot and killed Wednesday night on the northside of Saginaw.

One by one family members plead for justice for Layla.

"This has got to be one of the hardest tasks a mother should have to go through," says Layla Jones' mother, Julie Polk.

Layla's father, Shawrone Jones was also shot Wednesday night and remains in the hospital.

The family thinks with the community's help those responsible can be brought to justice.

"She needs your help. I need your help. My family needs your help. I need to rest her with peace knowing that the person who so carelessly took her life doesn't know that he took an angel from here," says Polk.

Layla's stepfather Larry Polk says, "call the police department, call anybody."

Saginaw Police are investigating the shooting of Layla and Shawrone Jones in addition to the shooting death of Bobby Bailey who was killed just hours before Layla.

Police ask anyone with information to come forward.

You can call Saginaw P.D. at 989-759-1598 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.
