LANSING (AP) -- Seventy-eight recruits are set to be sworn in as Michigan State Police troopers.

They're to take part in a graduation ceremony Friday at the Lansing Center. Gov. Rick Snyder is to provide a keynote address.

Upon graduation, the new troopers are to be assigned to MSP posts across the state.

They successfully completed a boot-camp style course at the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing.

The recruits had training in firearms, water safety, defensive tactics, patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing and precision driving.
