SAGINAW -- A three-year effort to make the city of Saginaw's operations more energy-efficient is complete.
A solar power plant on the roof of the public services building will save the city around $300,000 a year due to lower electric bills and a drop in maintenance costs.
It's known as the "sun-steer" system and the plant was developed by Saginaw's Nexteer Automotive Facility.
