Experts say young trees wouldn't have been marketable anyway

MID-MICHIGAN -- The Friday after Thanksgiving is often the time when people start to purchase their Christmas trees.

This year's drought did take a bit of a toll.

The National Christmas Tree Association is saying rainfall is the biggest factor. But they say most of the trees affected were younger and would not have been marketable by Dec. 25.

In fact, the biggest effect will be in about eight years when growers sell trees that are smaller because of the weather.
