FRANKENMUTH -- The cross controversy continues in Frankenmuth.

The group of out-of-town activists known as "Americans United for Separation of Church and State" is seeking more plaintiffs to launch litigation to have a 55-foot cross removed from a city park.

Both sides of the issue spoke to NBC25 on Tuesday:

"This is a very clear violation of the Constitution and the seperation of church and state," plaintiff attorney Lex Luchenitser said.

"The city says this was put up by a grateful community in 1976 and that grateful community is going to fight to keep it," city of Frankenmuth attorney Richard Thompson said.

Frankenmuth said it's prepared to take on any litigation.
