FLINT -- It was once a home in the 1800's but now the Whaley House Museum is opening its doors to the public for a Christmas display.

The museum is featuring many original items including photos, books and wardrobes.

The home dates back to when Flint was a logging town and survived the automotive years.

Tour guides say a stroll through the historic building unlocks an important part of Flint's history.

"It's just a nice kind of preservative of past Flint. You know that transition period from the late 1800's to the early 1900's," tour guide Andrew Clark said.

Tours will continue until January 1st.
