SAGINAW -- Saginaw Police are piecing together a late-night shooting death across the street from the Bethel Church near Bethany Street.

Neighbors said they heard shots around midnight and saw a car speed away.

When police arrived they found 16-year-old De'Quavious Southward left bleeidng on the sidewalk.

Church members viewed a memorial on their way into service Sunday morning, many of them in disbelief. 

The victim's cousin says it was his little brother's birthday today.

"I was watching TV and I heard like four or five shots rung out. The family came out and people couldn't believe what was going on... It was sad," neighbor Mike White said.
