FLINT -- McLaren Hospital has instituted a new policy of not hiring smokers to work at any of its campuses.

The policy, which started February 1, is a company-wide inituative.

McLaren says this is about creating a healthy environment for patients, caregivers and the community.

The new rule will not impact existing employees.
