The Big Ten Conference office announced today (Thursday, July 15) the list of Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award recipients with 41 University of Michigan student-athletes receiving the prestigious designation. The list of 2010 scholars includes 26 female and 15 male representatives across 16 sports.

Wide receiver and Academic All-American Blair White (Saginaw, Mich.) received the Big Ten Conference Medal of Honor along with women’s basketball center Allyssa DeHaan (Grandville, Mich.). The Medal of Honor is presented to a male and female senior student-athlete at each conference institution for outstanding athletic and academic achievement.
