With more than 14,700 tickets sold on the first day of the public sale today (Wednesday, April 21), nearly 80,000 tickets have been sold or allotted for "The Big Chill at the Big House presented by Arby’s," the outdoor ice hockey game between Michigan and Michigan State scheduled for Dec. 11 at Michigan Stadium.

With a Michigan Stadium capacity of more than 100,000 and already 60,000 tickets sold or committed to before the public sale, The Big Chill at the Big House has the potential to break the world record for attendance at an ice hockey game. The Wolverines and Spartans established the world-record mark at 74,544 during "The Cold War" at Spartan Stadium on Oct. 6, 2001.

The University of Michigan and Michigan State University have announced a second outdoor ice hockey game to be played between the two storied programs. The teams will face off in "The Big Chill at the Big House" at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Faceoff is slated for 3 p.m.
