Oiler softball team also knocks off Pinconning
MT. PLEASANT -- The Mt. Pleasant baseball team made the most of its short drive to Central Michigan's baseball complex, beating Pinconning 5-0 Tuesday afternoon in the division 2 state quarterfinals.
The Oiler softball team followed suit, edging Pinconning 1-0.
Unionville-Sebewaing also advanced to Battle Creek and the state semifinals after a 5-2 victory against North Muskegon.
Frankenmuth's run ended in division three softball after a 2-0 loss to state powerhouse Allen Park Cabrini.
Other baseball winners on Tuesday included Saginaw Heritage, Shepherd and Beal City.
