BURTON -- Grand Blanc's Emmanuel Petrich carded an opening round 72 (E) and leads the 2010 Genesee County Amateur at IMA Brookwood Golf Club in Burton.
Several other golfers are right behind Petrich, including Swartz Creek native Zach Marvin.
"If I happen to do well here it will take me on to the city amateur two weeks from now, then getting ready for college golf this fall. Just trying to go in there with as much confidence as I can, so hopefully I play well," said Marvin.
The 54-hole tournament continues Saturday and wraps up Sunday.
The groups tee off between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on hole 1.
