Cavaliers get past visiting Clarkston, 44-38
FLINT TWP. -- It wasn't the most artful effort by Carman-Ainsworth, but the Cavaliers did just enough to earn a hard-fought, 44-38 victory over visiting Clarkston on Wednesday night.
After racing out to a 10-2 lead, the Cavalier offense skidded its tires for much of the remainder of the game, scoring only 34 additional points over the final three quarters-plus. Fortunately, the visiting Wolves' offense had their struggles as well, with a stifling Carman-Ainsworth defense largely responsible for their lack of production.
Sophomore Denzel Watts scored a game-high 24 points for the Cavaliers in the winning effort.
