Henry held to eight points, seven rebounds
UNIVERSITY CENTER -- Marquavis Ford had a game-high 17 points and Saginaw took out Chicago Orr Academy 91-47 Monday evening at the second annual Dorian Dawkins Show Your Heart Memorial Classic at Delta College.
The day-long tournament honors Saginaw head coach Lou Dawkins' son Dorian, who collapsed during a summer league basketball game in 2009 and later died.
Orr senior Mycheal Henry, who has committed to the University of Illinois and is the 36th ranked recruit in the nation according to Rivals, was held to eight points and seven rebounds.
"The one kid going to the University of Illinois, he's a terrific talent, but we took them from the beginning, out of the ordinary. We made them start doing things they usually don't do. With the depth that I have, I don't care what the opposing team has. If you going to try to run, we going to run. If you going to try and slow it up, we going to force that tempo, but we can also still play a slow up basketball game," said Dawkins after the game.
Flint Beecher lost to top ranked Detroit Consortium 74-69 in the tournament's opening game.
