Dawkins will step down as AD, Varsity Basketball Coach to pursue collegiate coaching opportunities
SAGINAW -- UPDATE: Monday, March 21, 3:17 p.m.
In a Monday afternoon press conference from Saginaw High, Lou Dawkins announced he is resigning from the positions of Athletic Director and Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach effective at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.
"No, my wife is not leaving me for a superintendent's job in Oklahoma," joked Dawkins, who addressed the rumors swirling around his pending resignation announcement. "No, I do not have a job offer with the NBA. No, I am not ill. And no, I currently do not have a college coaching position. However, I'm at a time in my life where it is time for me to start aggressively pursuing some of my career goals."
"My decision is definitive, and well-thought out, and prayed over."

Saginaw High boys varsity basketball head coach Lou Dawkins has scheduled a press conference for Monday at 1 p.m., though the nature of his announcement is not yet known.
