Rison among seven local figures to be inducted in December

GRAND BLANC -- Flint native Andre Rison headlined the 2011 class of the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame announced today in Grand Blanc.
Rison was a standout wide receiver at Michigan State and the NFL. He won a Super Bowl title with the Green Bay Packers during the 1996 season.
"There's nothing like being a hall of famer at home," Rison said. "It's something that you strive for."
The current head football coach at Flint Northwestern Academy said that among the many awards he has received, he is grateful to be recignized among the great athletes he has watched and competed with.
"Just to come out of the pack and then join another pack like this, it's incredible," Rison said.
