The Tigers talk after their game three win in the ALCS about finally getting their bats going in this series.
DETROIT --
Was there a different formula tonight? What was different?
"Sometimes things don’t go like you want them you know," Tigers Second Baseman Ramon Santiago said. "I know everyone tried hard to do their best to perform and sometimes we don’t get it done. Today with the home crowd, we had a boost."
"Miguel, Jhonny, V-Mart, they stepped up huge with three home runs right there," Tigers Third Baseman and Outfielder Don Kelly said. "Miggy also had that big double as well. They’re guys that carried us all year. It's good to see them get back on track."
What was the difference today?
"It comes when they fall and they just don’t sometimes," Tigers Left Fielder Andy Dirks said. "You can't base a performance in one game on not getting a hit. Post season is different than the regular season. you get more at bats in the regular season, and only a few in the post season. Sometimes they come and sometimes they don’t. We’re going to keep battling."
What’s the game plan for tomorrow? The game plan is to win, you know," Dirks said. "That’s it."
"I feel better now that my team is winning," Tigers Closer Jose Valverde said. "I don’t care how many pitches I have to throw, I want to win tomorrow, and the next day and the next day. If I have to pitch four days in a row, I’ll be there."
Victor Martinez told the media he felt a "sharp pain" in the game, but did not elaborate. He said he will come to the park to get treatment, and will do anything he can to play in game four.
