Lake Fenton's upset bid comes up short
MILLINGTON -- Millington's senior running back Dustin Jacobs rushed for the eventual game-winning score in overtime as the Cardinals survived a scare from Lake Fenton 28-21.
The Cardinals may have to finish their playoff run without their starting quarterback Dakota Sebert. He was carried off the field after an injury and did not return.
Flint Powers outlasted Frankenmuth 35-13, pitting them at Millington in the Division Five District Two title game.
Montrose did away with St. Charles 39-0, netting their tenth win of the season.
The Rams’ victory sets up a rematch of last year’s Division Six regional final with Ithaca. The undefeated Yellowjackets will host the undefeated Rams in the District Two final.
Marlette stunned the Vassar Vulcans 34-20 in a regional semifinal the Red Raiders played on the road.
Next week, they will play the winner of Flint Beecher and Warren Michigan Collegiate in the other Divison Six district final.
