Carman-Ainsworth returns one starter and two players total from 2011

FLINT -- Flint Carman-Ainsworth returns just two varsity players form last year’s district team..

Fortunately, one of those players was honorable mention all-state guard Denzel Watts.

The junior is being looked upon to be a leader by both his teammates and Carman-Ainsworth Head Coach Bob Root.

Watts sees a lot of potential with his new team.

“Even though we might be small, my team is still scrappy and they work hard,” Watts said. “So if we're working hard and harder than the team we're playing, we're gonna win.”

Coach Root agrees for the most part.

"Every game we’ll try to play harder than our opponent, play smarter and together as a team,” Root said. “If we do those three things, we feel we're successful whether we win or lose."

Watts has high hopes for the Cavs, believing they can be really successful in 2012.

“I honestly think we’re going to have a really good season,” Watts said.

Carman-Ainsworth begins their season on Tuesday, December 6th in Grand Blanc.
