Saginaw beat Arthur Hill Friday night

SAGINAW -- In their last meeting in December, Arthur Hill held on to beat Saginaw 81-76.

This Friday in January was a different story, as Saginaw defeated Arthur Hill 88-76, thanks to the efforts of Senior Travontis Richardson, who scored 18 points.

Markell Bradshaw added 17 points and Trevon Bentley had 15 points for Trojans. Arthur Hill's Montez Cochran and Jalen Adams each contributed 18 points. The lumberjack's star, Jordan Hare was suspended for the game.

It was close going into the fourth quarter, but Saginaw pulled away in the fourth for the eventual victory.

The Clio ladies were in action against Mt Morris. Allison Kitchen had a good game for the Mustangs. For the Panthers, it was Margo Joubran picking up the slack. Mt Morris holds to win by four.

In the boys match up, Clio's Russell Williams' and Tyller Centilli's triples help guide the Mustangs to a win over the Mt Morris Panthers 64-41.

To the Big Nine, Powers Catholic lady Chargers hosting Flint Carman Ainsworth. Ally Haran and Kayelin Mazur each contributed to the Powers' win 75-65.

It was a rivalry game for the boys of Powers Catholic who took on the Chargers of Carman Ainsworth. Denzel Watts and Cameron Morse led Carman Ainsworth. Powers' Quinn McNeal ended the game in double digits. Carman Ainsworth won it 52-49. 

"We played really good and everyone hustled," Watts said post game. It was kind of a rough night for us, but we pulled it off. It was a good win. Powers is a well coached team and they're our rivals; we hung in there we scrapped at the end, great win. It wasn't pretty, but we'll take it"

Staying in the Saginaw Valley League, Saginaw Heritage headed to Flint Northern. Flint Northern won it 69-54. Ramon Lewis had 12 points and five assists, Richmond Lewis had 15 points and 7 steals for Northern.

Coming off their first loss this week, Bridgeport hosted Millington. Cardinals hung in there with the Bearcats, but in the Bridgeport prevails 73-61.
