Saginaw high beat Bay City Western Friday 73-59.

SAGINAW -- The Trojans were rolling after beating top-ranked Romulus, coming into Friday's Saginaw Valley League match up against Bay City Western.

Saginaw proved to be up to the challenge, outscoring Bay City Western in three of four quarters, 73-59.  

Tavontis Richardson led the Trojans with 20 points. Matt Costello had 17 points for the Warriors.

In the Flint Metro League, Clio hosted Linden.

Mustangs got down early, but fought back and even scored a three-pointer at the buzzer, but Linden's squeaked by with a one point win 44-43.

Swartz Creek girls traveled to Fenton Friday.

Dragons made a run in the second half that the Tigers could not recover from, Swartz Creek wins it 33-22.

Dragon's Autumn Henry had 18 points.

"It was about my girls handling the basketball, finishing shots and playing good defense," Jason Hill, Swartz Creek girls varsity basketball coach, said. "Having played these girls before, we knew they would play us tough a grind it out and make shots. We know we had to be strong a play good basketball."
