Dragons win their first-ever regional title

KOCHVILLE TWP. -- The Swartz Creek Dragons took a 2-0 lead in the third inning and held on to win their first-ever softball regional title on Saturday against Alpena.

Emily Weekly hit an RBI single that scored Hayley Crouthers for the winning run. Spohomore pitcher Carah Pletcher struck out the final batter to complete the win.

In baseball, Flushing defeated Traverse City Central, 6-2, completing 17 innings of baseball in two games to win their regional title.
