The United States Golf Association estimates around 60-thousand people attended the 2012 U.S. Senior Open.
Although this is less of an attendance figure than last year's senior open at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, golfers didn't have a shortage of great things to say about Indianwood Golf and County Club.
"I'd just like to thank everybody involved this week for putting on a wonderful tournament. Indianwood is a terrific golf course," said Roger Chapman during the trophy presentation. Chapman won this year's edition of the open by two strokes.
During a press conference following the final round, competitors Fred Funk and Tom Lehman also had good things to say about the course, the USGA, and the town of Lake Orion itself.
"I thought it was a great championship and a really great golf course. And it was just fun to play, and it was a great week, so thanks," said Funk, winner of the 2009 U.S. Senior Open.
"I would [like to] echo Fred's words about the course, and the city, and the hospitality, it's been an A-plus, thank you," said Lehman.
