BURTON -- The Burton Bendle Tigers are preparing for a year they hope will not end like 2011.
They are a high-powered offense already--and they say they have a better team with more than half of their starters returning and a big offensive line.
"They should open up some big holes," said senior quarterback Jared Garner. "Hopefully we'll be able to run through teams. "
The Tigers already had their highest-scoring offense of all-time with 416 points--but they also shut out five of their opponents--including Burton Atherton, whom they'll play in week one.
Despite their successes, they lost in the first round of the MHSAA playoffs to Blanchard Montabella. But despite a tough Genesee Area Conference, they say they expect to go farther in 2012.
"We're not getting beat in the first round this year, I promise." said senior running back Joshua Mikesell.
