Michigan basketball has high expectations coming in to the 2012-2013 season.

ANN ARBOR -- The Michigan basketball team officially begins practice Friday, then Head Coach John Beilein said, he will get the real feel for his team.
Wednesday, the Maize and Blue held the annual media day at the brand new William Davidson Player Development center.
Beilein said even in limited interactions, his freshman five are making an impact, especially because guard Caris LeVert, forward Mitch McGary, guard Spike Albrecht, forward Glen Robinson III and guard Nik Stauskas are 'willing to learn and take direction well.'
Add in the return of point guard Trey Burke, and you have a recipe for success.
Some are putting the Wolverines in the top 10 in the preseason, but Beilein said they're not putting any stalk in it.
"John Beilein will always have a chip on his shoulder and look for ways to improve the team in every way," he said. "I don't think we'll come in thinking we are anything more than 15 guys with four coaches working hard."
"I'm pumped, I'm really excited," Trey Burke said. "The level of talent we have, I'm excited to see how far we can go."
Beilein said the loss of leader Zack Novak will be felt, but 'it's time for other guys to step up and prove themselves.'
He said they'll pick captains in a few weeks.
