Midland mashed by Muskegon in regional final

MIDLAND -- Midland became the second top-ranked team in the area to lose their regional championship game, falling to second-ranked Muskegon in the Division Two regional final 49-21.

Powers Catholic, the number-one team in Division Five, fell to Portland Friday night.

The Chemics gave up four touchdowns to Muskegon’s John King, three in the first half as Midland trailed 34-7 at intermission.

After losing for the first time this season, Midland finishes their season 11-1.

In division eight, Harbor Beach won their regional final over Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 17-10.

 

The Pirates will take on Muskegon Catholic Central in the state semifinal next Saturday.
