MID-MICHIGAN -- The sky is bright across a chilly Michigan as utility crews work to restore power to the last of at least 225,000 electricity customers blacked out when the Midwest's first snowstorm of the season pushed across the state.

The blustery storm dumped 20 inches of snow near Ishpeming and 17 inches near Negaunee in the central Upper Peninsula on Thursday and Friday.

In southeastern Michigan, the St. Clair County sheriff's department says a 71-year-old man died in a head-on crash Friday night on snowy Michigan 25 in Burtchville Township.

CMS Energy Corp. says 2,500 of 170,000 affected customers remained powerless at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. DTE Energy Co. has restored service to 55,000 affected users.

Mid-afternoon temperatures range from the upper teens in the North to the mid-30s in the South.
