Genesee County has seen an uptick in jobs over the last year, and the I-69 International Trade Corridor group wants to talk about it.

The I-69 International Trade Corridor met today to discuss how to bring more jobs into the region.

The group consists of four counties, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, and Shiawassee, who are trying to use the region to leverage new jobs into the area.

Rather then each county trying to compete for jobs, the Corridor group wants to lure businesses in by showing them the advantages the whole region has to offer.

The group is currently looking to redevelop vancant sites or soon-to-be vacant sites such as the Grand Blanc Weld Tool Center and Flint's Delphi East.

Both plants are slated to close later this year.
