HURON COUNTY -- An investigation into a Huron County dairy farm staffed almost entirely with illegal immigrants yields nearly $300,000 in funds obtained in the case.

The Department of Homeland Security presented a check to state police and the Huron County Sheriff's department.

William Hayes, an I.C.E. agent told NBC 25 "As you can see from today’s check presentation the fines in these cases are fairly substantial and we would encourage all local businesses to do the proper thing and hire a legal workforce and avoid these type of penalties."

The case made headlines in May of 2007 when special agents searched the farm on three separate occasions.
