Flint Powers cruises to home victory
SAGINAW -- The hype preceding a Saginaw-Arthur Hill showdown is usually off the charts...and once again, the two schools did not disappoint.
Battling back from a three-point deficit in the final minute of regulation, the Trojans forced a Lumberjack turnover with the game at 81 apiece, as Mike Green drilled what proved to be the game-winning jumper at the other end of the court. An Arthur Hill shot attempt on the game's final possession was ruled after the buzzer, as Saginaw held on for a thrilling, 83-81 victory on their rival's home floor.
In another contest between state powerhouses, Flint Powers cruised to a home court victory over visiting Orchard Lake St. Mary's, 76-52. Patrick O'Brien and Shane Moreland each scored 21 points for the Chargers in the winning effort.
