32nd year for Mid-Michigan event
BIRCH RUN -- Friday afternoon the Birch Run Expo Center will once again come alive with the sights and sounds of the Great Outdoors.
The Flint River Valley Steelheaders are wrapping up preparations for their 32nd annual Boat Sport & Fishing Show, which officially gets underway at 3:00 p.m. Friday.
The show runs from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Both arenas feature boat dsiplays, and the mezzanine level is set to house many other vendors.
In all, more than 100 exhibitors will be on hand throughout the weekend.
This year, a laser shot hunting and fishing simulator will undoubtedly draw large crowds.
"Boats are still selling. People may be trading up, trading down. The market may suffer a little bit as far as the number of boats. There is still good action out there in boat sales. A lot of pontoons, fiberglass, a lot of aluminum boats, lots of choices. These dealers have already told me they're going to have some rock bottom prices out there. This is the place to shop," says Joe Pilara, state director for the Michigan Steelheaders.
