(AP) -- The Michigan and Michigan State men's basketball teams are kicking off their 2009-10 seasons with Midnight Madness celebrations.
The Wolverines' event at Crisler Arena Friday night is to feature player introductions, scrimmages and skills competitions.
The Spartans will hold their event at the Breslin Center.
Michigan State will raise its 2009 Final Four banner to the rafters for the first time, and the evening also will include promotional giveaways and appearances by the marching band, cheerleaders, dance team and Sparty.
Admission to the events in both Ann Arbor and East Lansing are free.
