Districts continue all week

FLINT TWP. -- The Swartz Creek and Goodrich volleyball teams took the first step towards a state title Monday night by winning district playoff games.

In Class A, the Dragons quickly went up 2-0 on Flint Metro foe Ortonville-Brandon at Carman Ainsworth High School, before letting the Blackhawks storm back to tie it at two games apiece.

Swartz Creek survived in the final game 15-9.  Christine Burt had an impressive 21 kills and eight digs for the Dragons.  

Swartz Creek meets another conference opponent Holly, on Wednesday night in the district semifinals.

Grand Blanc faces Fenton in the other semifinal.

At Mt. Morris Junior High, Class B Goodrich steamrolled fellow GAC Red member LakeVille 3-0.

The Martians take on Flint Powers Wednesday night in the district semifinals.

District host Mt. Morris entertains Birch Run in the other semifinal.
