Wolves earn 3-0 win
SUDBURY, ON -- The Saginaw Spirit suffered a 3-0 loss to the Sudbury Wolves Friday night, tying up the two game season series between the two teams; the Spirit felled the Wolves 5-3 in early October. Spirit goalie Edward Pasquale tallied 25 saves in the effort. The Spirit have 32 points and a record of 15-7-2-0.
Wolves forward John Kurtz tallied all three goals in the contest, with center Eric O’Dell (NHL ANAHEIM DUCKS) assisting twice for Kurtz’s first OHL career hat trick. Defenseman Daniel Maggio (NHL NEW YORK RANGERS), center Steve Reese and winger Jared Staal (NHL PHOENIX COYOTES) also posted assists in the effort.
Spirit goaltender Edward Pasquale (NHL ATLANTA THRASHERS) tallied 25 saves on 28 shots, while Wolves goalie Alain Valiquette earned the shutout with 28 saves on 28 shots.
