(AP) -- O'Grady's goal lifts RPI over Michigan, 4-3
DETROIT - Marty O'Grady's goal with 7:50 left broke a tie and Allen York made 43 saves to lift RPI to a 4-3 win over Michigan in a semifinal of the Great Lakes Invitational at Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday night.
RPI (10-9-1) will play Michigan State in Wednesday night's championship game.
Chase Polacek scored twice and Paul Kerins had a goal and two assists for the Engineers.
Carl Hagelin had a goal and an assist and David Wohlberg and Kevin Lynch also scored for Michigan (9-10-0), which rallied from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits. Bryan Hogan allowed three goals on nine shots before being pulled after two periods in favor of Shawn Hunwick, who stopped three shots.
The Wolverines will play Michigan Tech in Wednesday's third-place game. Michigan State beat Tech 10-1 in Tuesday's first semifinal.
