Holly pulls away from Clio in Flint Metro
MT. MORRIS TWP. -- After nearly meeting in last year's Class-B state title game, Bridgeport and Flint Powers gave fans a glimpse of what may happen if their paths do indeed cross at the Breslin Center in March.
Rebounding from a slow start, the Bearcats fought back to earn a very impressive, 58-53 win over the defending state champions in an interconference battle on Wednesday night. Thirty-nine of the Bridgeport's 58 points came off the fingertips of two players - Derrick Davis and Darvin Ham. Davis had 20 points, eight rebounds, six rebounds and four blocks. Ham's line was nearly as impressive, with 19 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
DeMarco Sanders led Powers with 25 points, while Patrick O'Brien chipped in 15.
In another interconference battle, Goodrich used their full-court press to overwhelm Davison, earning a 63-42 victory on the road. In the Flint Metro, Holly pulled away in the second half at Clio to earn a 57-48 victory.
